A Little Bit Of Soap

A Little Bit Of Soap

A Poem by George David Hope

                                                                         A LITTLE BIT OF SOAP
Mum says that I'm smelly
Dad says that I stink
But I'm scared to get a wash
In case I block the sink
Grandma says that I pong
Aunty say's I reek
But I don't need a bath
I had one just last week
My socks I have to wring them out
There full of sweat and grime
And in between my toes
Are little bits of slime
Everyone say's I'm dirty
Get cleaned up they all do call
I only change my underpants
When they stick upon the wall

I like to write about topics that are somewhat frowned upon, such as this delightful little ditty about being smelly. You do a great job of keeping it light & sassy, explaining your preference for stench with matter-of-fact aplomb. Stand back & look at this poem in its entirety -- about half is the reaction of others & the other half describes the stink in playful ways. I could go for more of the playful stink descriptions, pumped up to a higher level. This poem cries out for more outlandishness. But I also very much like it this way, too! *smile* Fondly, Margie

Lol, funny stuff here, George! That's typical behavior of little boys...and some men. My mother once told me the best way to keep a man out of water was to put dishes in it! ; )

I'm a cleaner, too. It's called "housework".
Great fun, reminds me of some boys (not all) of a certain age. Love the rhyme and flow. Light hearted entertainment.
