Sad. That last line was a real kick in the heart. The whole piece led me to believe the speaker wanted this person back, but the last line proved my assumptions wrong...and made this as a whole very painful. To jealously love someone isn't an uncommon subjec, but to want to let someone go and be with someone else isn't often expressed, and, as usual, you've caught me off guard and opened me up to feel your loss.

These lines in particular touched me, because that is the most painful part of a broken relationship, when everything slips away and all you have are the memories of happy times. You put to words this sad moment, in a simplicity that emphasises the loss and lets the emotion basically speak for itself. this does justice to that emotion. You don't overwhelm the sorrow by unnecessary explanations and descriptions of your pain. Very well done. Thank you for sharing this with me.
