Someday

Someday

A Poem by Douglas Levi Gribbins
"

Horror of fate

"
Some day he's going to lose you.....
Some day he is going to be lost by you....

One day he was happy to meet you...
One day he was happy to be met by you....

Some day he will be happy to see you...
Some day he will be happy to be seen by you...

Only one voice is heard by him
The others just sit and laugh...
That one voice tells how minds will work...
As my heart will remain in ash...

One day he lost you completely....
Some day he is going to be completely lost by you...

One day he was happy to meet you...
One day he was happy to be met by you....

Some day he will be happy to see you...
Some day he will be happy to be seen by you...

My mind tells me to smile....
My shard of glass disagreed...
Will I have to haunt for miles....
For my soul to be free....?

Bury me six feet down...
Speak of the devil and we will meet...
Ask him "Must I haunt for miles....
For my soul to be free....?"

One day he lost you.....
One day he was completely lost by you....

One day he was happy to meet you...
One day he was happy to be met by you....

Maybe he will be happy to see you...
Maybe he will be happy to be seen by you...

This would be great as lyrics, but for a poem, I feel it might have a little bit too much repetition. Lots of people write & love poems that have repetition, so either way is fine. I particular enjoy the way you've repeated the same line in a different way . . . it caused me to stop & think, but I couldn't quite figure out what it meant, so I just read on becuz I was enjoying the poem, regardless of whether I could wrap my head around all the nuances. Good job. Thanks for sharing.

Gorgeous lyrics. That little juggle and play on the words, it's good, intensifies the meaning and effect. Great work.

Strong words and thoughts.
"Bury me six feet down...
Speak of the devil and we will meet...
Ask him "Must I haunt for miles....
For my soul to be free....?"
Final breathe. All of us hope for a better place. I hope there is one. Thank you old friend for sharing your thought provoking poetry.
