Little did you know my heart can't beat forever

And I can't be everywhere

I hope you know love's a great endeavor

I don't expect you to care

You were once like an angel from heaven

And i'd once beg you to stay

I remember us on the phone past eleven

I'd cherish every word you would say

But I know time will pass

I know what we had was great

I'm aware that all that is the past

God just had to give it to me straight

The second stanza is splendid. This is a very different poem of urs and very relatable too. It describes nothing dark and has everything to do with normal human beings. And yes, things happen. They just do.
