Picture FrameA Poem by Douglas Levi Gribbins
Anytime after 10 "Love" was all we could think
Write a rhyme here and there, all we could do was sing So we put our hearts together, try to make life a song Put possible into "Never" Let love and hate get along It was 10:52 and all I could think Of was you. Your dress shining pink and eyes were so blue Making each other "tattoos" with markers and sharpies But today we aren't even friends, now I ask you "What are we?" It's pathetic, I scream it, With tears in my eyes My past will come and haunt me, for my loves own demise I know it wasn't my fault, But what i said, I didn't mean it I can't help but blame myself for what you did, I begged, I pleaded That what the nurse told me was anything but truthful Now I sit at your gravestone with you in the picture frame, so beautiful. So here I stand on the soil, the last place you now lie Here's this rose to the future, and now my last goodbye. Rest in peace.
