Broken WingsA Poem by Douglas Levi GribbinsLike my past writings, its dark with a twist, emotional, dark, and educational.
Have you ever
Loaded a gun that said "Goodbye"? Have you ever. Fell victim to the devil's lullaby? It's trying to lure me to sleep When i haven't even awakened. He says he will fix my broken wings. I wonder if i should take it? It's just a bullet to the brain Maybe a bit of poison past your lips You could lay in pain, you go insane as Listen to noises of your blood as it drips You're getting lightheaded, The stress stays heavy You're on the bed, You're sweating, You're voice is edgy There's no noise, it's silent, You feel it, a red bed-sheet. You feel it down your spine, you're Parylized You're burning, you can't even cry, You're eyes, Look at the devils paper that you must sign. It's a sign of weakness, You have fear that you cannot hide. You have your past, behind a mask, that will come at you fast You can't run, you can't hide from it, Get a vibe from it. Use it to stand up, Decide to get- Stronger, Don't take it longer. You wake up, you're arms are fine, bed-sheet is white, Not a red line. In sight, I insight that You will remember this night, Right? The night that you fixed your own wings, and took flight.
