Orb of Light

This is a poem that personifies the writer's perceptions of the rising moon and the setting sun.

 

 

 

The Moon rises from the depths of the sea:

A luminous orb

reflecting the flaming god-sun

across the unfathomable depths of the solar system.

She rises in the glorious golden shafts of light

thrown from the warrior king's flaming hot chariot.

She ascends to her diamond-studded chariot of the night.

A goddess of the dark and the mysterious,

she starts her journey through the ancient wheel of constellations.
