An ending to legion's poem: Deep Goddess.A Poem by Gaiamethod
She turned slowly, fearfully
And I held my breath.
How would she react to this interloper,
This witness to her pain.
I stood still
Allowing her energy to wash over me,
inspecting me.
I dared not breathe.
Could she feel my fear?
Would she recognise my pain?
The pain I hide?
Her tears flowed stronger still,
The light from the moon illuminating them
as they coursed down her face.
What can I do? I silently asked,
To help you?
I held out my hands in surrender.
She smiled then.
Her eyes glistening.
Her lips pale.
Slowly she turned back and
Hands held high
Released the moon back to its sky
Released the pain she held,
The guilt.
I could feel her release
And my heart felt full,
Of gratitude and love.
She turned and walked towards me,
And then right through me.
I shivered.
And she was gone.
But the moon was back in its place.
Its light lit up the earth once more.
My Goddess was gone,
But I still held part of her
………….In my soul.
