Like a Potato!

Like a Potato!

A Poem by Gaiamethod

Like a potato.
Clean on the inside,
Dirty on the outside.
Is this how we express ourselves?
Expressing the dirt for all to see?
How would it be if we expressed our ‘cleanness’?
Our inner joys and pleasures?
Our inner most thought and feelings?
What would people think of us?
Could we handle it?

Try it and see.
What have you got to lose?
Only some dirt surely.
Wouldn’t it be better to walk around clean and clear.
Light and joyful.
Welcoming the dawn of a new day, a new light.
The light of kindness and simplicity,
Of love and joy.
Why would you fear theses things?
Why do you prefer to walk around ‘heavy,?

Heavy with the weight of out-moded thinking and beliefs?
Don’t you know that behind the dirt there is nourishment and love?
That behind the weight there is something precious?
Something alive?
Why walk around with death hanging on your every word?
Your every action?

Why indeed.
Its time to clean up and move on.
Into a world of shiny brightness.
Don’t be afraid and hang back,
in the shadows.
What are you afraid of?
Don’t you know that there is a whole world waiting?
Waiting for you to shine?

Very wise words and great advice. I've never been one to follow fads, but this world seems to be full of those who do. I think you know what I mean. Sam
