Often, we mirror less-than-stellar examples of love.
You ruffled my feathers
one thousand times.
I lifted you higher
and told myself lies.
It took many years
just to realize
it was never love,
I was just tracing lines.
Oscar Wilde liked to talk about this a lot. How most people who fall in "love" aren't really falling in love with the other person, but rather falling in love with their idealized version of love using the other person as a surrogate. It can get very dysfunctional I've noticed. We are frequently selling ourselves as something we think someone else wants to see while that other person is doing the same thing with us... it leads to people falling in love with inauthentic versions of each other... getting married, getting comfortable... letting the real person out of the cage... realizing they absolutely hate each other... divorc, hope there's no kids involved. Ugh.... I frequently wish I was asexual. Until, well, I'm glad I'm not at the end of the day lets just say.

It gets hard when people are only a little dysfunctional but otherwise good people. In reality, most people are rarely either totally awful or totally awesome, we just have to be honest with ourselves about compatibility. Eh... I think men are becoming more emotionally immature while women are doing the opposite these days. Men are becoming more and more... I don't know, asleep at the wheel emotionally. I feel bad for some of them (a lot of them are just narcissistic jerks though, I don't feel bad for those guys).
We're all just stumbling around this rock but it is hard to watch others wither.

It's very dense and, well, hindu religious text is very different from western religous text, it's less about morality and ethics and more about personal introspection. I find Hindu philosopy in genergal to be deeper than western philosophy, than the greeks and romans, Indian philosophy of that time should be more highly regarded. In my opinion. I am frequently wrong about these things.
