Self-Imposed

Self-Imposed

A Poem by Gaia Octavia

A tattered blanket
of timeworn beliefs
the chill sinking in,
no more a relief

Lips turning blue
after years of disuse,
as weariness grows
over this self-abuse

Locked in my cell,
divested of more,
though I am the key
that will unlock the door

Sappo was one of the greatest poets. So I was wonder if you also are. I like your light verse with hint of philosphy and oibservations of humanity. Poem it self can have various intepretations . So I think you are great but still Sappo is for me number one.
