Just Remember

Just Remember

A Poem by Gaia Octavia
"

For Edward

"
I remember your eyes:
filled with the pain of your story,
the acceptance of mine,
and the moon-
mirrored in your pupils.

We sat under a starry sky
on that chilly night,
overlooking the city
while we bared our souls
and we had been enough.

That intoxicating night
bound us like sand and glue-
twisting my heart
into the shape of a
painful bloom.

That,
I remember.

I'll always remember.

Because,
though you are gone-
now only wisps of memory
and the warmth in my smile-
you are still there with me:

Each and every night,
in view of the city,
under each star in the sky,
and in the chill of night,
when I tell the moon

to remember.

Just remember.

Thank you kindly
Such a sadness here yet.. but also a beautiful example of how to love, how to hold close, how to remember and know you can and will never forget.

'Because,
though you are gone-
now only wisps of memory
and the warmth in my smile-
you are still there with me.. '

Tears can be the rain that washes away the pain of loss yet purifies it.

Ty so much!
What an eloquent expression of the joy of memory. I find memory is a knife that can cut two ways. On good days, it releases pain. On bad days, it causes it. You found something sweet in the midst of loss. I applaud that!

Moments like this are what memories are made from. Though Edward has gone, he will always be with you in this particular scenario. A most beautiful night you shared together, where you shared love.

II forget to mention about the "letting go" theme. It's visceral, but, does not feel complete.

(some call it gaslighting... never do it to yourself... it's the worse form of torture)
This is a lovely and beautiful poem.
I can here a voice saying "Remember, and never forget these days we've spent together..."
