Solitary Creature

Solitary Creature

A Poem by Gaia Octavia

If you must affix some blame
that I stay master of my name
to love only Earth's creations
and her endless explorations,
it was dear Artemis -
and her ancient artifice -
who tempted me to join her thus
and care not if you make a fuss

Delicate. And there in visits upon the reader a quest, to weigh the values placed upon few words, in search of what is it that is true and what is subterfuge. The light gossamer tunic does not hide its strengths, this is a structure of granite with sumptuous fullness and a full submission to an earlier form.
Even though a first thought would be that the writer burdens another with the responsibility for their choice, but that would be as fools venture. For the tone and proud lift of chin decry any idea that the weapons chosen to meet life are anything but by the will of the one speaking. It was reported to me that this was a light piece, this is true. But even light is more than illumination, and this should not be dismissed as whimsy or trite.

I liked your precise yet short usage of words. This poem also has a very nice rhythm to it.
