Accidental Kindness

Accidental Kindness

A Poem by Gaia Octavia

Just an accidental kindness
a simple, solitary thing,
which to you seems something mindless,
but for some could mean everything

A simple smile towards another,
a door held for one left behind,
lending your ear to a brother
who needs his demons off his mind

A little kindness can be shown -
no amount is ever too small -
to prove that someone's not alone
and hold them back from a long fall

Even if it's done in blindness
future benefits can be rife,
and that accidental kindness,
well, it might one day save a life

Very thoughtful and very satisfying.
The poem itself is well written and you get the messege across in a wonderful fashion, one that I must commend you for. Good job.

This reminds me of a story I once heard,
I'll keep it very short since it's a long and this is a review of -your- poem after all.

A guy without alot of money to spare gave a waitress a fat tip, she in return gave a begger man a large donation, who in return was kind to a stray dog and bought him something to eat, and the dog then followed him to his home. A fire broke up and consumed the entire building, but the dog's barking alarmed everyone and all the building's inhabitants got out in piece, among them, the guy who gave the waitress the fat tip.

That's it. Random kindness can save a life. And if not, it can just really make someone's day.
