Fate

Fate

A Poem by Gaia Octavia
"

Just a couple curse words. Forewarned is forearmed.

"
She don't care about intentions
or your relative fame
having money doesn't matter
she'll kick your a*s and take your name

There's no hiding from her disaster
she will bring you to your knees
she can drain you 'till you're hopeless
and she'll do it all with ease

Now you can try to outrun her
but you'll always be behind
cause she's known in every circle
as the supreme mastermind

She will not forget your name
so no matter what you do
you must always remember
fate's got her claws in you

And it may not last forever
but forever's where she'll be
she'll blindfold you and f**k you
and she'll do it all for free

Gee
Ah fate, forever lurking in the background. Really enjoyed this, great flow and a wee bit of cursing is good to see.

Really like this. I agree with others who liked the personification of fate. I'm a tad ambivalent about the resignedness of the message - I think our own striving is part of what your fate mistress has in mind - she allows us to at least tweak our destiny, I'd like to think. But ultimately ....

The other thing I was drawn to about this one especially was its resemblance to a song lyric. And just like a song lyric, my only suggestion is perhaps a chorus or a bridge.

Needless to say, I really liked this piece otherwise why would I be reviewing right?.

At the end of this particular poem I found myself fearing for my life.

"And it may not last forever
but forever's where she'll be"

Brilliant wording, these words alone (both ominous and eerie) make me want to run and hide...but what would be the point right? :p

The fact that fate is a popular belief and that everything is planned and that we are all blind to it makes

"she'll blindfold you and f**k you
and she'll do it all for free"

the profanity in that totally useful, because firstly there is nothing like a woman scorned and secondly
you wouldn't see it coming (fate i mean).

also loved the way you personified fate as though anyone could just bump into her on a night out.

really inspiring.

The pleasure is all mine seriously.
We know many kind of people in a life. Some want love. Some want sex and some need a kind voice and a friend.
"And it may not last forever
but forever's where she'll be
she'll blindfold you and f**k you
and she'll do it all for free"
The above lines. True for many. I liked the honest thoughts in the excellent poetry.

A write that personalizes ever-illusive fate was a very ambitious connection to depict. This piece is so well done it almost took my breath away while reading. I bookmarked your page NOW so I can return and hone my admiration for your word play and style. I'm sending a friend request; I hope you send me read requests because I'm afraid RR's are all I have time for on a daily basis.
This piece is outstanding, I'm looking forward to reading more of your work, Gaia. take care...dan

Sooo good! I loved how it broke away from the more mundane kind of poetry! It gave a unique spin to the way most people look at fate!! 🍉😁

Stunning.
Well, perhaps stunning isn't the best word for it.
Awesome. Yeah, Awesome fits it better.

Great piece of writing, the words danced in my mind as I was reading it and I guess that's a sign for good lyrics. I can really see as something one should hear rather then read, and I mean that as a compliment.

After that last line I feel like going ''OHHHH'' and fall backwards while flailing my arms.

Arm flailing is always a comedic adventure. And never one to pass up ☺
This is wonderful! In a way it is so casual but it is really really well written, I love it!
