Catch and Release

Notebooks filled
with words and thoughts
pulled and forced up
from my deepest sea

My pen, cast
into raging currents
and the calm flow
of swirling eddies

Catching emotions
that bubble up
to be released
on wooden pulp

Where they will lie,
safely tucked away,
long after
I am gone

To be understood is something I think every human truly wishes for. Though truthfully, my poetry being read long after I am gone fills me with a sense of peace that no immediate audience ever could. Thank you for your kind words!
