Under the Rain

Under the Rain

A Poem by Gaia Octavia

Under the sun
with sweat and toil
my dreams were sown
in salted soil

Under the rain
my stunted crops
are purified
by water drops

Under the stars
I breathe a sigh
each prick of light
a question why

Under the moon
I raise my chin
and in its glow
I bathe my skin

Under the sky
in light of day
still stumbling
I've lost my way

Under the earth
my mind will cease
and finally
I'll have my peace
