From Time to TimeA Poem by Gaia Octavia
The practiced dullness of my affections
can be startled by wayward charm or candid caress of wind upon my cheek which can transport me to a time before I halted my heart When thoughts of love, strained by the ebb and flow of fickle fancy, were steeped in youthful notions - like painted rainbows promising prize at journey's end When heated kisses left mouths watered for mountains more and no measure of time was enough to fill my appetite for another But these mental forays into the forgone days of presumptuous pleasures do not induce cravings for more, but rather strengthen my resolve to return to the tranquility of my seclusion © 2015 Gaia OctaviaAuthor's Note
