Edward

Edward

A Poem by Gaia Octavia

You were never mine
but still, years later
I wake from a dream of you,
where your legs worked
and you were happy
and we reminisced about
all the havoc we wreaked
when we were young
and drunk
and high

It's been many years
since you have died,
since I've come to terms with
the impossibility of closure,
but still,
from time to time
I dream of you,
and I wake
calling to you
to come back
