All the Things I Should Have Said

All the Things I Should Have Said

A Poem by Gaia Octavia

In my solitude I have found peace.
Each day adding to my fortress:
my anonymity, the mortar
my stubbornness, the stones.
Impenetrable to all who may seek to reach me.
No longer able to comprehend those
who so readily volunteer to be disemboweled,

laid bare,

eviscerated
by love.

It's funny...I've been reading a lot of Emily Dickinson lately. This poem resonates very well with that. It's not so bad being a fortress, I've found.

I wholeheartedly agree, thanks
Your words arise from time alone, in a quiet place where no intruders trespass. It is beautiful to have such a place when such a place is desired. Thank you for sharing this beautiful poem.
