Another World

Another World

A Poem by Gaia Octavia

Green waters,
mountain gems,
turned-up flowers,
leaves and stems

Bathed in beauty
all around,
both above
and below ground

Sunshine rises,
light and dark,
every shadow
makes its mark

Sunshine sinks,
night creeps out,
hunters hunting
all throughout

Shining eyes,
sharpened claws,
measured movements,
hungry jaws

Little creatures
buried deep,
safe and sound
and fast asleep

Cozy den,
empty nest,
make fine reprieve
for welcomed guest

Moonlight dances,
starlight leads,
twisting 'round
while dew drops bead

Mother nature
on display,
reveling in
her vast array

Windswept forest,
babbling brook,
always worth
a second look
