Shakespearean-ish SonnetA Poem by Gaia OctaviaMy heart grows cold within its lonely cell No company is allowed to visit Quiet as a bird who knows its cage well Though unwilling to be content in it Stretching its wings it gives a hearty thump Looking out for someone to take hold of Like a bird - too young - who is willing to jump I must guard it from itself against love I disguise its cell as a warm, safe nest And fix it up all comfy and cozy I set it down behind my weary breast Now hidden from anyone who knows me I remind it each time it starts to tweet That a true lady's heart is always discreet © 2014 Gaia OctaviaFeatured Review
