I Asked The Angels

I Asked The Angels

A Poem by Gadger

I asked the Angels to watch over you,

In every step that you tread.
That they may lift up your chin,
When you are down and hang your head.

I asked them would they hold you up,
When you are tired and weary.
Would they wipe your eyes with gentle wings,
When you are sad and teary.

I asked them would they stand right beside you,
And hold you by the hand.
I asked them to catch you should you fall,
So that on soft feathers you would land.

But most of all I asked those Angels,
Each and every day when I pray.
To keep you safe, well and loved,
Until I can again one day.
