I Asked The AngelsA Poem by GadgerI asked the Angels to watch over you,
In every step that
you tread.
That they may lift
up your chin,
When you are down
and hang your head.
I asked them would
they hold you up,
When you are tired
and weary.
Would they wipe
your eyes with gentle wings,
When you are sad
and teary.
I asked them would
they stand right beside you,
And hold you by
the hand.
I asked them to
catch you should you fall,
So that on soft
feathers you would land.
But most of all I
asked those Angels,
Each and every day
when I pray.
To keep you safe,
well and loved,
Until I can again
one day.
