Passage at Dusk

Passage at Dusk

A Poem by SELF

Here I am
Against all odds
with my 23 pairs of chromosomes
walking the vast Earth in a vessel
subsumed with that which was spinning inside the first atom of life
in the triple dark womb of space.

Here I am
a being whose likeness is like a flower seed that blossoms even when
it is thrown into ice.
So when I end up being confined by that which birthed leviathan,
scatter me over the clouds
and let me be like the rain
so I can flow here and there
and travel all over the earth
and move into infinity's heart under the watchful eye of time.
