Fabricated Identities

Fabricated Identities

A Poem by SELF

Gathering thoughts in Isolation

I see our plight of building our own prisons

running in circles

Surrounded with bars forged of falsified oaths, codes, and commitments.

With walls of self-doubt and accepted deception

we inhabit these prisons we call “us”

and round and round we go,

Not knowing that the best lies come wrapped in truth.
