Black Within White

Black Within White

A Poem by Gabrielle Linch

Sullen black is within the color white.
A complex paradox of its own.
Black is the absence of all color, right?
While white displays every color shown.

Since pigment is absorbed by creamy white,
A contradiction that black is within.
This may sound delirious and outright,
But technically black is a deception.

In the game of poetry, it takes a confident gunslinger to attempt to two words ending in "x" back-to-back. I applaud the courage to do so. As I read past that line, it speed-bumped me a bit. I can't say that I have a better idea of how it should be written, but if I am being honest I would say that is where I got lost and gave up on it. Please write on, and accept my criticism as a fart in the wind. Smelly, but soon passing. I like the bulk of your work.
