Waiting

I like going to the airport alone.
Is that wrong? I don't know.
I like the feeling of anonymity that comes
when I sit by the gate, waiting to board the plane.
People look, but only once.
I may brush their mind, but its a light,
feather-like whisp. I do not make an impression.

I like waiting the old fashion way:
strumming my fingers to the beat of my heart
and thinking of the things I'd never say aloud.

But people like to talk about things that hardly matter
only because they fill the cracks of the empty channel between us.

It's strange. There is no patience for silence anymore,
even though its the closest thing we have to
peace.

I like silence. I write in the middle of the night so it is quiet. I like this poem. Sometime we can be overtaken by silence. I like the ending. A excellent poem. Thank you.

I relish the feeling of being alone in a crowd. It feels like the people are a sea of voices and thoughts and I am on a little boat floated by their presence yet not really a part of it. I look down into the waters and they are lovely but I know I could never live there.

I like this poem a lot. The line "There is no patience for silence any more" is my favorite. There is so much truth in it.
Great write
