suffocate

suffocate

A Poem by Gabriella

i come home to an empty room

no pictures on my walls

no room for you

i let us go when you said to move on

crying over the thought of us gone

but it’s for the better

figuring out what’s left

never looking back to reflect

moving forward and staying on track

i let myself love until i suffocate

maybe this will allow ourselves to reciprocate

however the case may be, somehow i hope you still think of me

i dread the thought of us again

holding hands, can we just pretend?

that we were meant to be in the end.

I really loved those lines. They portray the utter conflict, the heaven and hell pull of memory, one minute sunsets and kisses, the next 3am tears and empty frames.

The title says it all. Breathing love. Suffocating in ache.
