Season in Ithaca, NY:
The other day whilst walking through the woods, the stream, the broken rocks, I paused- to watch a leaf dip in the breeze with each breath of air.
I looked off into the sun, and down at my dirty shoes, and remembered your promises.
I'll take you hiking when the weather
gets warm. I'll take you to the sitting bench in
the shallow stream. I'll take you to the gorges so that we
can jump together. I'll take you to the trees perfect for
climbing. I'll take you on adventures.
I walked the rest of the way back with those thoughts expanding in my head, and your ghost © 2013 Gabriella DeGennaro |
