Let me live

Let me live

A Poem by G
"

first timer here, with my first piece of work! This is the product that was produced from my crazy, sleepless, and emotion driven mind and 2 in the morning. enjoy!

"

Let us grow out of our old souls.

Let us tear each and every piece apart.

Let us cry when the sorrow swallows us,

Let us laugh when the joy fills up our lungs.

Let me live.

Let us dance in every bar, out in the streets

Let us sing to every melody that catches our ear

Let me live.

Let us write on every page of the book,

Let us paint with every brush, every color palette

Let me live.

Don’t let me drown.

Ah. 2 in the morning. Those bits of phrasing that can hit you in the quiet time, possibly half-awake half-asleep. Like Annette, I enjoyed this celebration or call to celebrate life with all its ups and downs. The key, of course, is the repeated 'Let', very ably assisted by good phrasing after each one. I especially liked 'out of our old souls' and 'on every page of the book', the first because it was just a beautiful phrase, and the second because it just says so much.

Nice work

Thank you! :)
Beautiful celebratory plea to live life in its entirety with all it has to offer. "Let me live...let me paint with every brush."-eloquent, well-penned! Welcome to WC and I hope to read more of your work.
