Forgot Smiles

Forgot Smiles

A Poem by GZ

Most of the times in life we meet people who we won't see twice,
and we forget to smile,
so the best impression we leave of the world is that we're all sad,
because the world is dying.

And loud we cry,
like a clock hitting the midnight,
while everybody sleeps, ignoring its majestic sight,
and so silently its sound leaves. But we refuse to see.
We refuse to accept that we are WE.

We are unique but without any differences,
we live in a world of "what would we better be?",
instead of living life as it is,
making it hard for the kids to decide what to pick.
Let's change that, let's instead smile and stress less,
living our lives to don't live our life senseless.
Smiling to each others so the world feels death-less.
Let's imagine there's a joke in each sentence.

So now go, don't waste time staring at those letters,
go now and smile restless.
Don't forget a new face since it may be the next best man.
Take your life as it is like a homemade present.

Interesting read. I like the message you convey. It is, after all, a proven, scientific (science of psychology) that just the act of smiling, and keeping on smiling, will lift your own emotional state. Maybe it's because when we smile at someone, they smile back; and when they smile back, we feel better. I do know that it makes me feel happier when someone smiles at me, and makes me smile genuinely, in return.

BTW, the poem needs a bit of editing for typos and writing errors. I would advise adjusting the visual layout so the reader is led through your words as you feel them.
