Something Broken...

Something Broken...

A Poem by GZ

Exhaust - bleeding from the wounds,

in this timeless fight - which will end soon,

pride and glory are forgotten,

in the oblivion lost and rotten,

begs for mercy this once king,

for forgiveness from his sins,

but no answer is received,

while more suffering is perceived.

Will the wounds be healed by passion?

Will this grant a merciful action?

Or should more pain just be inflicted,

to the repentant now convicted?

Should we pray, wait or act…

Should I keep asking your help?

I still in pain - me, once loved escort,

protecting you, who left my fort,

resisting harshness,

trying to find love in what seems heartless.

Madness, agony and hope,

the last light in this man’s sight’s scope,

looking for something that was there,

but now broken is everywhere.

Picking pieces, trying to glue,

trying to fix - but nothing once broken looks like new...
