Blessed And Cursed

Blessed And Cursed

A Poem by GZ

If only you knew,
if only half of me was more open to you,
if only I could stop and think,
but time never stops and you from my fingers slipped,
now I look here and you're gone,
a chance missed - but I gotta carry on.
In a time now here present,
from a past desolated like a desert.
Like a blackout in a city at night,
leaving me lost with no sight nor light.
I now struggle to surrender,
to what you represent: you're gander,
yet it's told that every soldier,
strong or weak - small or big shoulders,
has to stop fighting his war,
and give up or meet his Lord.
And so here I am,
hands up - with nothing left.
Naked to my destiny,
waiting for you to forgive my sins.
A harmless yet once powerful,
strong yet now so not-harmful,
cursed and blessed by love,
now property-less and left with none.
