We can do this!

We can do this!

A Poem by Gabby The GAB

It’s been a long day
Preoccupied with so many things
Problems compressed in a single day
Yep, a long day it is
Yo, we can do this, I know we can
Having thoughts of jumping to the air?
You can but please make sure you don’t fall
We could fly to the moon, if you'd like my company
I talk a lot and I can tell you a lot things, so don’t you dare fall
We can always aim high and reach higher
We tend to improvise, ain’t that a thing now?
We study things today for tomorrow, for next week or for now, we don’t know
We can look to the left or right to ease our thoughts
But we should not focus on either side
We should focus on what’s in front of us
It might be hard but still, you have to trust what’s on your mind
You have to think it through, analyze what is true
Probably this is something you should do
From all of it all, from all those things you read and learned
Do not forget how you manage to cope things up to this point to the ends of it
And do not ever forget how the almighty from above gave you the best answers there is to it.
We already started this so might as well see it to the end
I know there’s an end so I’ll leave you with this
In every end of something, something is born with a new beginning
ciao J

This is the best inspirational writing I've seen at the café in about a year. This has the perfect balance between telling an authentic story and injecting some uplifting ideas. Some go too far in one direction, like focusing on a crappy life or others act like choosing to be happy is only the simple flip of a switch. Here you meet the down person halfway. You respect their situation before you try to move them from it. These are all the right moves when trying to inspire people. Your writing has a few more bumps toward the end, but overall smooth reading (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

My Gran had a saying. Your last lines reminded me of it.
She said, "An old man dies, a new child is born.
Great read, Gabby. Reminds me also of the words of the great Barack Obama, who famously said, "Yes, we can!"
Now THERE was a President!
