Bone Room

Bone Room

A Poem by Gabby Nieves

Ashes to Ashes
Engulfing in flames
Death and Birth
spewing from the open wounds
The open window
where you stand,
Long nights
washing away the pain of yesterday
No tomorrow lay beyond the curtains
waving past your cheeks,
your bones,
heart and soul.
Drop the face
where eyes once were
Count away the falling stars,
The melting moon
Fragile and disguised
Everything has gone
Everything will stay
This room so filled
with bones and air
The time is yours,
The time if yours
