It was an unusual pain
like the kind you don't mind feeling
embracing life in the wind
as fast as you could forget everything happening outside of that moment
something about the waves,
the sand
the stars
something about the vibrations
the lights tracing your hands
I'd turn the sky inside out
so you wouldn't know the difference
bury the flames deep inside my lungs
and exhale the bad memories

so you'd never hear a thing
chase the dreams
not chasing me
