My Inner Demons

Inner demons fight over control of my mind

searching for new ways but none of them they find

are able to penetrate my thoughts and out rule me

I'm almost giving in to my inner demons, soon you'll see.

 

They lurk in the dark in the far reaches of my head

encouraging me to cut whenever I had the urge to see red.

Wanting so much more than what they already have

they've taken control of my mind, but they want more than half.

 

Inner demons fight over control over my body

my thoughts get jumbled up and I get kinda groggy

I can't control myself sometimes and I lose all control

they are coming after me even though I'm on constant patrol.

 

They lurk in the dark in the far reaches of my soul

I can see them now with their eyes as dark as black coal.

They have so much yet they want just a little bit more

how much more will they take? I am unsure.

 

Inner demons are fighting over control of my lips

the words they give me spew out like venom, cracking like whips

it leaves my mouth and others are quick to judge

they all wonder why I have no friends, it's cause they misjudge.

 

They lurk in the dark within the far reaches of my voice

they've taken control of me and I have no other choice

but to cowar in fear of my inner demons within my own self

but do us all a favor and get out while you still can..save yourself.

 

Inner demons have won control over me

let's see how long it takes before we take the city

they've accomplished taking over my body and they want much more

we'll have to see what my inner demons have in store.

 

They lurk in the dark in the far reaches of my being

I've been a slave to them for so long but now I am seeking

a way out from this slavery because I can't be controlled any longer

but it may just be too late for me, I might just be a goner.

idk where the inspiration came from, but the picture was really cool and ive been wanting to write about it for so long....i think i finally did it :) hope you all enjoy it!

So...was this your poem, or did the demons make you do it? ;) Sorry..couldn't resist. Demons only thrive where and when they're fed. Whatever I feed, I breed. So I ask myself in the morning...what am I going to feed today? My fears...or my strengths. Then I ask Great Spirit for strength, guidance and willingness. We are all sufficient unto the day...it's believing that when the fear wedges its way in that's hard. Great write of a universal struggle.
