The Courtship Of Miss GabrielleA Poem by Beatles9322This is about my love for everything Jane Austen. The fashion, balls, and men will forever be imprinted in my mind and hopes. Enjoy!
My white muslin gown twirls around my dainty feet
As I spin past my partner in Regency attire. With heart pounding and mind fixed on marriage, I perform the steps that I have studied for many a month. This man has no fortune and lacks rank Yet I care not, as he is my soul mate. What more could a young lady ask for Than to be admired and loved by a man so fine? He takes me for a ride in his small carriage To tell me of some pressing news. "I've no money, no rank and no right to have you But I pray that you'll accept my hand in marriage." Tears flooding out of my brown eyes, I smile in intense happiness. All of my dreams have come true and I could not ask for more. WAKE UP FROM THIS FANTASY! As I go to bed that night, in my modern pajamas and socks I pray to God that He will send me a gentleman of my own. Curls styled in a romantic fashion and body covered in a lacy dress, My heart starts fluttering when I catch a man looking at me in class. And so begins our courtship... © 2010 Beatles9322Reviews
