Replacement

This is about my friend, Monica.

Best friends for two years,

Each others confidantes,

That love soon faded,

With the change of your countenance.

 

Bitter, defensive, and cold you became,

As each year passed us by,

And although regretful, I must end this union,

Promise me not to cry.

 

I know that I will not cry,

No matter what you do,

Because there is something very secret,

That I have not told you.

 

I have a new friend,

Who is kind and true blue,

He helps me with my problems,

Makes me laugh and treats me better than you.

 

This new best friend will be,

Worth more than nickels and dimes,

And although I'll miss you,

I'll smile back on the old times.

 

There is one more thing I did not,

Say for fear of your resentment,

My new best friend is not a mere human,

But an all powerful, wonderful God.
