My Dear Friend

My Dear Friend

A Poem by Beatles9322

I've always felt,

That I was just passing through,

I didn't have a purpose,

Until the day I met you.

You opened my eyes,

To all of the possibilities,

Thank you for teaching me,

That all I had to do was look and see.

You are not a boyfriend,

Although I'll love you till the end,

You are someone very dear to me,

You are my best friend.

I never knew true friendship,

Before I knew you,

You've given me so much,

I look up and the sky is always clear blue.

Throughout all of my,

Obsessions and crushes,

You just stood there and listened,
We even shared lunches.

The future is coming,

Whether we like it or not,

So let's be prepared,

Oh dear friend, forget me not.

Our lives change,

With every breath we take,

We learn from each other,

And all of our mistakes.

People grow and change,

Situations become different,

But I'll always have that memory,

Of us laughing at "Atonement".

High school is almost over,

We're all going to move away,

But let me take your hand,

And together we'll find a way.

Let's walk along the trail,

Eat pizza at the cafe,

Chase down the ice cream truck,

Call each other and say, "Hey!!!!".

With all of these changes,

We might not make it to the end,

If so, my sister,

Will you think about me every now and then?
