The below characters don’t have names yet

Male:        “But what will you do whilst I am gone?”

Woman:    “I’ll survive”

Male:         “And the children?”

Woman:    “They’ll be told bedtime stories of how their brave father was chosen by The Rowan                    Tree to protect it this coming year.”

Male:         “What if I don’t come back?”

Woman     “Then the tales will seem that much greater”

Male:         “A year of solitude can change a man”

Woman:    “Well that all depends on the strength of the man in the first place, my love.  The  Rowan Tree chooses its protector and it has chosen you.  It gives us its skin to ward  off the unclean one, without it we would cease to survive.  It is a great honour to be chosen.”
