COME TO ME

A Poem by Gurdeep...The Lost

Kabīr man nirmal bẖa▫i▫ā jaisā gangā nīr ||
Pācẖẖai lāgo har firai kahaṯ Kabīr Kabīr ||

(Kabeer, my mind has become immaculate, like the waters of the Ganges.

Now, the Lord follows after me, calling, "K abeer! Kabeer!")

~~(Salok Bhagat Kabeer Ji-o ke, Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee:Ang 1367)

                                                   COME TO ME

Shouts, shouts hither and thither,
The Creator Lord is to be found whither?
We utter His Name, but are driven by our mind,
We dwell in desires of every kind.

On our mouth, rests his word,
But the cries for help, are never heard.
With rituals in action, others we hurt,
With a burdened heart, which is full of dirt.

"Lord! Lord!", we shout, but He doesn't appear,
We seek Nirvana by uttering words sheer.
Something we chant, with something else in mind,
Our heart with the Lord, how shall bind?

We call upon Him,but never walk on His path,
We remain slaves to your jollity and wrath.
In what we recite, is guidance bright,
But we love the dark, and shun the light!

It's all a play of the mind, we'll know,
When the seeds of Truth in our heart, we'll sow.
Then bearing fruits of compassion, shall emerge a tree,
From the bonds of our vices, we shall be free!

With all in us, and us in all,
When we''ll walk together and never fall,
We'll take Him as all, and all as Him,
And calmly shall echo the celestial hymn.

There'll be no shouts, when cleansed is our soul,
We'll be in ecstasy, in our life whole.
Hither or thither, wherever we'll  be,
The Creator shall call, "Come to me!".

Again very strong words, even though I am not all spiritual but I just follow the basic principle of living life with the dignity and respect others. Its important to follow the path of truth, rest comes easy, if you are alive...

The most soothing. I do think as you written above. Yes even after all the bonds with family fulfilled still minds lingers over & over on something may be its wealth/ partner / children. They obsessed with it only pays little attention to God selfishingly asks for Nirvana.

I'm a shiva's devotee and we need to do pooja everyday. If my mind is going somrwhere else, I won't do pooja & chant mantra.

I like the feel and the energy of the poem.
"It's all a play of the mind, you'll know,
When the seeds of Truth in your heart, you'll sow.
Then bearing fruits of compassion, shall emerge a tree,
From the bonds of your vices, you shall be free"
The above lines were my favorite. Thank you for the hopeful poem of journey and knowledge.

well done.. the flow, rhyme, and meter are very pleasant... I like the voice in which you write..
my favorite stanza is this one...

"It's all a play of the mind, you'll know,
When the seeds of Truth in your heart, you'll sow.
Then bearing fruits of compassion, shall emerge a tree,
From the bonds of your vices, you shall be free!"........ I love the idea of that... if only...
