A Thought on Friendship

A Thought on Friendship

A Poem by Gurdeep...The Lost
"

Happy friendships day!!!!

"

As our acquaintances turn,with the passage of time, into something new,

Selected ones then, become indespensable and shine like the drops of dew.

That sensuos feeling and the vivid blaze,

That filching of differences by someone in craze......

As waves meet,turbulences of which, varying may be ;

And render their merger into the fathomless sea.....

For each one outside, a void of comfort, there is,

That is filled by some chosen ones of His.

Good Samritans---they then become so,

Stand by you through weal and woe.

Of the feeling of dessertion, there is renunciation,

Each event is worth of commemoration.

Realise,that in the truest of such a bond ,you are

When a mock at you makes you smile..

And your call in distress, is answered in a while...

But.... be careful of pretensions, O' mind ;

Of those who have an axe to grind!

For this purest form of amity is rarest of the rare,

And those dealt with its purity, they it, do share.

this is the best piece by you that i've read so far...is it? I don't know but i love this poem. I love how beautifully you have dealt with this topic...even the topic aside, your choice of words are perfect here. This is the kind of poem that you read over and over and you just want to keep it with you. This is lovely Gurdeep especially the last stanza.

...But.... be careful of pretensions, O' mind ;
Of those who have an axe to grind!
For this purest form of amity is rarest of the rare,
And those dealt with its purity, they it, do share...

This is definitely going to my shelve and dedicate it to a few friends...thanks for sharing this great piece.

Wow, this is beautiful and my two best friends came to mind while reading your poem. Nothing's better than finding a friend that you know won't ever portray you for anything or anyone in this messed up world. True friends are like diamonds. Beautiful to have, but rare to find. That's why I'm thankful for my two diamonds :) You really described what makes a true friend which made your poem interesting to read for me! Again, great job :D

You're welcome :)
That sweet for friendships. I like how it wasn't just on all the good, it had it's little warning there to. But it did show what true friends should be. "And your call in distress, is answered in a while..." I thought that line was great, it gave me a nice laugh.
