WAVING FAREWELL to MINNIE BELLEA Poem by DavyTongue in cheek - farewell to my dear departed mother in lawWAVING FAREWELL to MINNIE BELLE You left us O’er a year ago Leaving nowt’ But ashes to sow
No one knew Quite what to do With the remnants That lingered of you
At last decisions Finally made To toss them to The open waves
A car trip first To reach the place So drive with haste
Ride rolling Harbour waves Face dangerous swells Salty air and ozone smells Find the wharf Hop aboard the boat Wrapped for winter In a heavy coat All this fuss And palaver too Just to say Goodbye to you We say a prayer She opens the lid Your ashes to reach She casts you out Towards to sea You lift on high Your spirit free At last " GOODBYE To
Wherever you are We wish you well
