A LITTLE BOY

A LITTLE BOY

A Poem by a Messenger
"

This poem was written especially for Ian, and it is with his permission it is posted here.

"

I wish I was a little boy

with so much time to play.

If I had all that energy

I'd run and play all day.

I'd wear a cape like Superman

and fly around the sky.

I'd help catch all the bad guys

and lock them up real tight.

I'd play with little kitty cats

and chase a puppy's tail.

I'd fly off with a magic dragon

and around the world we'd sail.

I'd watch a lovely butterfly

spread out her pretty wings.

I'd listen hard for just a while

and hear the fairies sing.

I'd love to be a little boy

for just a little while.

I'd love to be a little boy

and make my Mommy smile.

This is a very touching poem, just like the other one, "Little Girls". I like this poem just as much, if not a little more, because this focuses on the desire that we sometimes have to return to a time when we were young and didn't have any of the responsibilities that we have now, and how we sometimes wish that we could do the things that we did as a child again. Another excellent poem my friend, keep writing.

Such a sweet poem. I often wish I was still a little girl (ok, so I kinda still am :P ) I love these lines: "I'd fly off with a magic dragon and around the world we'd sail." I love dragons. Some of my best old lady friends are dragons. ha ha ha

Another great write. You are a true artist!!!

Once again, a touching poem! This poem reminded me of when I was a "Little Boy". I was deeply touched by the way that you empowered this poem with a vibrant energy that seems to just rip at your heart with emotion. This is a poem that should bring us all back to times when we weren't so caught up in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We should be reminded that we can still enjoy life and not get distracted by everything going on around us. We should remember what it was like to be a "Little Boy". Excellent poem! Keep up the great writing!

This is truly endearing - a wonderful tale of what it is to be a little boy. Thank you. I am enamoured by this completely as a mother of one special little boy who makes me smile everyday! Thank you.
