Writer's Block

I can't think of anything to write

 

 

Been trying to think

of something to write.

Been sittin' here thinkin'

most of the night.

 

I would write of love

but I know nothing about it,

if I did, beleive me,

I'd stand up and shout it.

 

I would write of young

maidens beauteous and fair

but I don't think my mem'ry

can get me back there.

 

I would write of green

fields full of sweet clover.

But most of those fields

have all been paved over.

 

I would write of the moon

hanging bright in the sky,

but I can't see the thing

and I'm not gonna lie.

 

I would write of roses

their aroma so sweet,

but all I can smell

right now are my feet.

Nice poem. humorous. i like how you are making light of the situation and making something very serious to writers into something comical. It also speaks of changes in your life... your memory of the ladies, the fields being paved over.

Great work, I love the rhyming.

I like the humor.

It is light, and yet with the block, you can rhyme. This is something I find terribly difficult.

The form and rhythm is good. This is a good read
