Ex-Flight Attendant (True really Short Story)A Story by GgTellsYou - Keep Smiling!!This is a true story. I wrote it for a contest on another website but I very much liked it, so I thought I would post it for you all. Hope you enjoy it!!My mom, the ex-flight attendant. My mom, the lady who met and dated Lyle Lovett. She claims she never regrets it. She's come to here and now and that's all she has or ever will want. But, I can see it in her eyes sometimes. When the rain falls a certain way or she can feel the fall crisping the leaves, her heart breaks a little. A bittersweet moment that should be treasured, exactly like she does. If she had changed absolutely anything along her path of despair, happiness, shock, and new-found healing, my genes would be those of a nationally known singer. I wouldn't live in a small town. My second brother wouldn't make me Valentine's Day cards when we're camping outside. My poems wouldn't reside within me; no doubt I would write differently. I would love hot dogs instead of a vegetarian rice bowl. My family would be separated and not treasure each other the way we do now. I wouldn't have asked a guy, when I was eleven, if he would teach me how to dance. My crush wouldn't be the same, and would never have even known I existed. We would be different. L.A. Complex experiences. Lunches with Julia Roberts and Oprah Winfrey. So. You tell me if every second, every moment doesn't matter. Every person we come across on the street or on a plane are just "every-day people".
