STORM FOR A SHOW

STORM FOR A SHOW

A Poem by ALAN BOWMAN

Shadows of day,

Dance into night

As a storm forms overhead.

Great clatter of thunder,

Like volcanoes erupting;

Drumming everywhere.

Great flashes of lightning

Dangling from the sky,

Like tinsel on a Christmas tree.

Rain silhouetted,

Rolling around,

Like pearls reflecting the light;

As if putting on a show.

As quick as it comes,

Away it goes,

With thunder clapping far away;

Rain and lightning

on its way -

To dance another day...

Great flow! I like the imagery in it as well, Being able to invision something as you read it makes it all the better, and takes true talent to be able to do that. So well done!

I like this poem. The meter is excellent and the vernacular is both descriptive and easily read. The poem flows, even in the head where there are no words nor diction. Reminiscent of Robert Frost perhaps?
