Pandemic Lullaby

Pandemic Lullaby

A Poem by G. A. Bernard

In the early morning light, I was alone

And the band played on

By midday, I was still alone

And the band played on

By twilight, darkness was becoming my friend

And the band played on

At day's end in the dark of night, I was alone

And the band no longer played on

I was gone
