“Inside Where the Truth Warms our Souls”

“Inside Where the Truth Warms our Souls”

A Poem by G. A. Bernard

When there is no shelter from the storm

You must go inside and find your own warmth

Going inside means letting go of outside forces

that seduces you to go their way and be like them

Going inside means giving up on many of the trappings of success

that will be falsely promised to you along with riches and fame

Living outside means being in the middle of the rat race and the rage of the group think

Easy and comfortable as it first appears in the end the delusion

is revealed and they end up wondering what might have been
